Hello, we are Darren & Patricia Smith
and we would like to welcome you to the Home of Big Boy Bulldogs. We are glad that you stopped by and invite you to browse
through our site and learn more about us and our dogs.
As a member in good standing of the Bulldog Club of America,
we are active exhibitors and quite involved in the world of raising Bulldogs and competing in AKC Conformation Shows. Look
for our dogs all over the United States competing in the sport of conformation.
Darren is a Arkansas Highway Police
Officer and Patricia is a Counselor. We have three wonderful children and to us there is nothing more important than our family
and our bulldogs. Our children are honor students and truly a blessing to have. It has been said that people should love what
they do for a living, and that statement truly applies to the Smith family.
We started, like most people, looking
for a family pet. We went out and found the first bulldog that we could purchase. The puppy was short, wrinkled and just adorable.
Like most 8 week old puppies, he was irresistible. We took the puppy home, loved it and cared for it and made it a part of
our family. After about six months this little pup started having major health problems. When we contacted the breeder, she
reminded us of that 72 hour guarantee that she gave and informed us there was nothing she could do. Like most people that
purchase without researching the breed, we got something that at 10 months old did not resemble anything close to a bulldog
and was plagued with health problems. The pup was neutered and died prior to a year old.
Two things happened during
this process; we learned a valuable lesson and developed an undying passion and love for the Bulldog Breed. Later, after researching
the breed, we were able to acquire a Bulldog named Rudy T, Champion Rocket City's Rudy T, a wonderful bulldog in both conformation
and temperament. We were well on our way in the bulldog world, or so we thought. Shortly after coming to live with us, through
no fault of anyone, we lost Rudy to Cancer. This gave us another lesson; there are ups and downs in the Wonderful World of
Bulldogs.
After losing Rudy, we stayed away for five (5) years and researched pedigrees and bloodlines. We wanted
to be sure that we were going into this huge undertaking the right way; with mentors, armed with a wealth of knowledge and
experience and a desire to have fine specimens of the breed in everyway. Our goal is to breed healthy, conformational correct
bulldogs, with great temperaments. Our breeding is for one purpose; our next generation of show dogs!
